The True Reason of the Season

The True Reason of the Season

With all of the hustle and bustle of the holidays, it is easy to get lost in all of the shopping and gift wrapping. There’s so much to do and so little time to do it. Many of us forget the true meaning of Christmas and what it really represents. The birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Many scholars say that Jesus could not have been born on December 25th due to the climate at the time and the shepherds that were watching over their sheep, out . It is speculated, by many, that Jesus was born during the warmer months. Yet, December 25th has been accepted and celebrated around the world for many, many years to represent the beginning of his life here on earth. Now that we’ve cleared that up, let us talk about the true reason for Christmas.

Christ represents love, forgiveness and compassion towards your fellow man. We are all God’s children and we should treat each other as we would want to be treated. If you were to ask a random child to tell you the meaning of Christmas, they may say Santa Claus or receiving lots of gifts. Would they know the story of the sweet little baby, lying in the manger? Would they understand why it is important to think of the less fortunate, especially during this time of the year?

We must always remember those who may not have gifts under a Christmas tree or a warm bed to wake up in on Christmas morning. God loves us so much and all he asks is that we show that same love to one another. That is the beautiful meaning of giving to others during the holiday season. How could we forget to tell this story? We are doing our kids an injustice by allowing them to think that Christmas is about material things and how much money was spent on gifts. There are so many ways to give back to the community during this time of the year. Let’s pass on love and compassion to the next generation. We must make gift giving more meaningful and appreciative. Yes, it is a fun and magical time of the year but the real fun comes in when you are a part of the magic!

So the next time you sit down to go over Santa’s list, remember to tell the story of the precious baby that came to give us hope and love. The true reason for the season!

Are you in the Push or the Pull?

Are you in the Push or the Pull?

For many years I was in the ‘push’. Trying to force every experience to be shaped by my perception. I wanted things to look the way I expected them too. But by acting like I was taking on the role of the Creator I wasn’t creating anything, rather pushing it away as I way pushing it to happen.

I see this all too often in our society. We put limits, expectations and boundaries on life dreams and relationships. All this does is add to being stuck in the process of paralysis by analysis. And then we are pushing, striving and driving an incongruent energy with the energy of creation. The energy of creation is one that attracts people to us not deters them from us. This is showing up to life with a NEEDY energy or a LACK MENTALITY.

When you master the art of leading from the inside out you begin to see the shift in your environment and how it responds to you. Angels and helpers start to show up and things start to happen that change how you go about your day to day. And it is more than just being in the flow. Pulling is trusting. And like any relationship it is built on trust and trust may take some time depending on who you are.

So ask yourself if pulling was the person that was the next relationship you had, then how would you treat that person? What would you act like? Like you wanted to be treated, right? Kind, gentle and someone who shows up to support the other.

So that is how I invite you to look at ‘pulling’ or ‘trust’. We all NEED to have trust in the process and it will unfold with beauty and grace when we ask kindly for its support. Remember when you ask this new friend called Pull, Trust or Faith to come around more they will and others will want to spend time with your new friends too.

Pulling is equal to magnetism. When you are in the energy of creation then magnetically you will attract that of what you want to create and will not be pushing for an outcome.

Homework:

1. Develop a relationship with the pull.

2. Practice talking kindly, showing gratitude and loving so that they show up.

3. Make sure you have a care plan in place and you abide by it, so you can recognize the gifts that are brought to you.

4. Rinse and repeat.. adding this to your daily endeavors will change how you magnetically pull what you want toward you.

Be the Positive Reflection You Want to See in the World

Be the Positive Reflection You Want to See in the World

This is the way truly to lead from the inside out. Our world today is lead and
be led. It can be challenging to discern who is being authentic, courageous,
and an inspirational influencer – the best qualities of a leader in my opinion. It
is in our highest and best interest to truly raise the vibration and influence as a
collective.

I have been looking at what we are being fed by media, our leaders and how
society functions on a day to day level. It would be inauthentic of me
not to say that I am not comfortable with how we have been shaped as a
culture by our external surroundings and the information that influences our
decision making.

I wrote this to guide and help you to create, inspire and influence in your own
way and to shift your environment to the most positive reflection of what you
want to see in the world.

So here it goes:

I ask you to think of a leader in the world (past or present) that has shaped
and shifted your beliefs, and who has raised and elevated your spirit to inspire
rather than retreat.

Now think of how they did that and why it is important to you?

Write this name at the top of a piece of paper as your #1 ‘Inspirational Influencer’.

Create a list of 3 more people who are inspirational to you, why and how.

(Essentially rinse and repeat the above exercise).

I want you to illuminate the attributes of this leader and look at how you can adopt them into your day to day. Take one thing from each leader and practice it daily.

Here’s my example:

Martin Luther King:

He was passionate, dynamic, a great speaker and influenced through inspiration. I have adopted that in my life as a way of BEING. When I feel like I just don’t want to wake up I think about him and how I am being, and shift my bad ‘tude to a good mood.

It’s that easy. Adopt this. Make it apart of your day to day Be consistent and soon you will ‘Be the positive reflection you’d like to see in the world”

Inspire others and start influencing now:

We are what we eat; Physically and Spiritually!

We are what we eat; Physically and Spiritually!

When we think about food we think of grocery stores, restaurants or fast food. The food that we consume causes so many different emotions to stir up inside of us. Food can make you happy, sad, depressed, uncomfortable, and even angry….(with a little heartburnJ). Being that we are always contemplating what to put into our bodies, how much thought do we invest into how we feed our mind and soul? To feed your mind and soul means seeking knowledge and understanding to grow spiritually as well as personally and professionally. GOOD words and GOD’s word is like food for your spiritual being. Prayer is therapy for your soul and meditation for your mind. One should never stop seeking the answers to the questions they have and the knowledge that will fuel their next steps.

During difficult times, we can depend on our spiritual knowledge to strengthen our faith and restore our beliefs in our creators power and HIS ability to lead us out of the darkness. We are given all of the tools and resources necessary to build an abundantly balanced life. How are you strengthening you mind and soul? Matthew 6:33-34 (New American Standard Bible) reads, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you. So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough troubles of its own.”

Your physical body must be nourished with healthy foods and daily physical activity to stay energized and in good shape. The choices that we make in our 20’s and 30’s, will affect how our bodies treat us, in our 40’s, 50’s and beyond. In saying this, we must realize that one day, our physical being will return us back to dust but our spiritual being will search for a dwelling place. Will you be lost?

Take the time out to start reading and educating yourself. Pray for peace and understanding. Be patient and GOD will guide you down the right path. Ask GOD to speak to your heart and learn to patiently wait on guidance.

Refinement

Refinement

Refinement is defined as the improvement or clarification of something by the making of small changes; the act of making something pure. As we enjoy the beautiful weather and watch the kids play, we are aware that soon the season will start to slowly transition from summer to fall. We will start to notice small changes in the air and nature all around us. Take this time in the heat of summer to start refining yourself. What bad habits are you hiding? What impurities do you need to remove from your heart and soul?

When we are unable to completely understand what is holding us back from our destiny, we cannot begin to develop a strategy to remove those unwanted impurities from our lives. It is important to be aware of the world around you at all times. There will be negatives and there will be positives. The importance of your struggle dwells in how you react to these situations. When you are faced with a personal issue that brings you heartache, do you lash out at others? Do you lose faith and turn away from the Creator? Do you block out the ones that love you, only to partner up with the ones that have the least interest in what’s best for you? These are the questions that you should start asking yourself as you refine and polish your spiritual relationship with GOD and your individual relationship with yourself. Am I walking my truth?

In walking in your truth, you have to take a strong, hard look at yourself in the mirror. Am I being the best friend to myself that I am to others? What changes can I start making today that will positively affect my tomorrow? Refinement starts with small changes that will significantly impact our lives in the long run. What changes can you make today? Sit down and start a list. You don’t have to finish it today but start it today so you can began refining your tomorrow. Let’s talk!

Celebrating Your Independence

Celebrating Your Independence

With the 4th of July on the horizon, many of us are making plans to be with our families or taking a short vacation in the sun. If you really sit down and think about it, independence has such a deeper meaning than the historical one that we have been taught. We are living in a country that has so many different cultures, religions, and expectations, how do you find your true self among all the learned behaviors we have adopted? Those behaviors or ideas of how you should walk, talk, act and believe, are embedded in us at birth. So at what point in your life do you decide to break free from the things that you were taught to declare your own spiritual independence? GOD is the creator of all. The beginning and the end. If you truly decide to seek him and his wisdom, you will begin to find yourself and understand your real purpose. You will know when to wait and listen for his voice and when to move.
As a child you are taught the beliefs of your parents. You grow up with some ideas of how life begins and ends. Some are taught love while, unfortunately, others are taught hate. Sadly, some are taught nothing at all and are left to figure it out on their own. Learning to discover your own independence allows you to be free of the expectations of others. Your personal relationship with GOD has nothing to do with anyone else’s journey. It is your path to follow. While on this journey, you will laugh, cry, scream, become frustrated and even have thoughts of giving up. The gifts that you will pick up along the way will bring you to a better understanding and a deeper, more intimate relationship with your creator. These are gifts that have no price tag; because they are priceless.
Please don’t think I am not writing this from experience. I’ve been through some things in this life, where the average person may have just given up. There have been times when I have questioned my own path and if I was going in the right direction. There have also been times where my path may have started out in one direction and then ended up going another. I have had failures just as well as I have had accomplishments. No, I will not say that I have enjoyed all of my failures, but I try to learn from each mistake and I seek the wisdom to not make that same mistake, twice. We are all human and we make mistakes. Don’t beat yourself up! Learn from your errors and move on. Dwelling on it halts your independence. That is not the life that GOD wants for us. He wants us to be self-aware and aware of the world that is going on around us. While you are planning to cookout on the grill and play in the pool with the kiddies, set aside some personal time to start seeking your own personal independence and connection to the direction you’ve been walking. I promise you, it will change your life and it may just change your path! Happy Independence!
