The Power of Yes

The Power of Yes

In the movie, Yes Man, Carl Allen (portrayed by Jim Carrey), is mired in his negative ways until the day he attends a self-help seminar that teaches the power of saying yes. The results are immediate—new job promotion, new romance, but true to Hollywood form, Carl discovers that too much of anything can be bad for you. The road to happiness is a little more complex than simply saying yes. Still, the concept that giving to others improves your health and happiness is not a screenwriter’s fantasy. Saying yes gives you permission to receive positive energy. It fuels creativity and creates trust and safety amongst others.

In our daily lives, the inclusion of others to create positive interactions begin with saying yes. This does not mean we agree with everything, but we provide affirmation that the person is heard. By simply, nodding or saying, yes, we are passing on positive energy to the speaker. Short phrases such as, “Yes, I hear you,” or “Yes, your words are important,” are positive ways to engage the speaker. Even if we disagree, we should acknowledge value in the speaker’s words. This reduces the chance of speaker becoming defensive. It promotes openness and positive inclusion.

By saying yes, we can also produce positive energy in our everyday lives. When we focus our energy on believing that we can succeed, complete a task, or reach a goal, we are giving our inner selves permission to try. Conversely, no is the beginning of fear. Starting with yes, we are freed from self-doubt and fear. Empowered, we can take the positive energy and reach for our goals.

The power of yes produces positive energy and a sense of value. Just as depicted in the movie, Yes Man, too much of “yes,” can lead to negative consequences such as loss of standards and accountability and a sense of recklessness. This power must be tempered with common sense.

So, go forth and embrace the power of Yes!

Why You Should Be Patiently Investing in Tesla (And Yourself)

Why You Should Be Patiently Investing in Tesla (And Yourself)

Billionaire investor Ron Baron has predicted that a long-term investment in Tesla Motors will prove to be one of the best financial decisions one can make. While the fruits of his investments will be slow to grow, Baron believes firmly that Tesla will become one of the biggest companies in the world. In the long-run, an investment in one of the most innovative companies on the globe will reap enormous rewards in the future.

Baron has seen the innovations first-hand. Every three or four months, he visits the factory and is astounded by the level of forward-thinking creativity that Tesla CEO Elon Musk has envisioned for the world. As he said in an interview with CNBC that there is currently no competition for Tesla Motors. They have genuinely risen above the fray to lead the world in a new technological direction, and companies who could have competed with them failed- all because they didn’t believe in the power of Musk’s imagination.

Tesla Motor’s future success doesn’t just lie in their exciting new car technology. It’s about an entirely new way of seeing how energy can be transferred and transformed. As Baron mentioned, Tesla Motors- with an investment from Panasonic- is creating a $5 billion giga-battery factory.

There’s a reason why Musk named his company after another great visionary, Nikola Tesla. Tesla had discovered a new way of using energy in a way that was so powerful and efficient it changed the entire world. What can we, as entrepreneurs, learn from this?

Patience, Determination and Abundance

Having the kind of focus and dedication as Elon Musk, or his investor Ron Baron for that matter, is necessary for long-term, sustainable, abundant success. Musk not only sees where the future is headed, his future, but has also diversified his projects- not settling for a single industry but spreading out his vision and seeng it for its entirety.

Investing in Tesla isn’t just about instant gratification. It is about having the dedication and the foresight to know that motivated geniuses like Elon Musk are altering our world, one inspiration at a time.

As entrepreneurs, we can learn an invaluable lesson from this. With enough patience, dedication, tenacity, and inspiration, we can alter our destinies to include an abundance so beyond what we ever imagined. A success that is transformative on a global scale.

Business Benefits of Mindfulness Practice

Business Benefits of Mindfulness Practice

“To enjoy our life we have to pay attention to it…We need to foster sustainable performance to use our energy, time and resources in a more mindful and focused way rather than wasting them in stress. We need to be more self-determined in getting on with what we need to get on with at the right time. Mindfulness helps us enjoy our life more, to find more meaning in our life and to help protect us from stress, anxiety and depression.” –Dr. Craig Hassed

Do you know the difference between meditation and mindfulness? The two terms are often used interchangeably; however the practices (while sharing some common ideas) are wholly different from each other. Mindfulness is the ability to exist entirely in the present moment, accepting our thoughts and feelings without judgment. Meditation is the practice of thoughtless awareness, a state of stillness so centered that mind is quiet. It is easy to see why the two could be confused, or how one practice can enhance the other. Today’s entry focuses on how the practice of mindfulness can benefit you and your business.

Ask any business owner and they will probably tell you their biggest challenge is stress. Generally, this stress stems from an inability to turn off thoughts about their business. This is where mindfulness comes in. The tenets of this practice can work in almost any size business, by helping to create an “off switch” and realizing the appropriate times to use it. Mindfulness can help you focus, listen more actively, reduce sick days, become less reactive, increase your productivity and so much more!

Start by identifying the thoughts or tasks that keep the business on your mind. Find ways to either knock out or delegate these tasks. Then allow yourself time and space without distractions to develop your “off switch”. Simple steps like counting or breath work can help us find our center. Other activities such as meditation, exercise, or ample sleep can also aid the mindfulness practice. And always remember, mindfulness is not about changing the world, it’s about changing our relationship with it.

Send off the Old, Make Space for the New!

Send off the Old, Make Space for the New!

Its time!

There is a link between the stuff in your environment and the stuff in your head! I am going to teach you how to let go of these patterns and items that hold us back from what we really want!

If you don’t have clarity on what you want look around your space at what irks you, the “stuff’ that no long serves you. GET RID OF IT!

And you can keep the abundance flowing by stocking your space with WHAT WILL SERVE YOU, WHAT IS MORE IN LINE WITH WHAT IS OF YOUR TRUE NATURE NOW, to keep the abundance flowing.

Now, look at the behaviors that irk you, take note of them without judgment and notice how they do not support you in your life NOW.

This will allow you to begin new behaviors that support you in your everyday life!

Like GI JOE said “knowing is half the battle”. Without clarity on what we do, be, have, we really can’t shift this aspect of our environment or ourselves.

This is how you do it:

  1. Work through each room and let go of 5 things (large or small)
  2. Look at each aspect of self and write down what you would like to shift or change about a behavior that doesn’t serve your true self.
  3. Thank those ‘things’ for all their use and thank the behavior for what it taught you about what you are no longer and release it. (When working with thoughts and behaviors let’s think of them as tangible items, as if you are donating them along side your ‘stuff’ for someone else to use, and have those experience and lessons).
  4. Once those ‘things’ have been let go and/or donated then sit quiet and breathe. Be with the space you have created. Feel the expansiveness of not being tied to the weight and heaviness of stuff .
  5. Envision what you would like to have happen in this next year. What does it look like, feel like, and what would it be like if you could BE _____, HAVE_______, DO_______.

Try it on and practice this. Consistent practice creates consistent results.

Bring ‘things’ into your space that support positive behavior and allow you to be that positive reflection you would like to see in the world!

Let freedom ring in 2016!

Be the Positive Reflection You Want to See in the World

Be the Positive Reflection You Want to See in the World

#btprywtsitw

This is the way truly to lead from the inside out. Our world today is lead and
be led. It can be challenging to discern who is being authentic, courageous,
and an inspirational influencer – the best qualities of a leader in my opinion. It
is in our highest and best interest to truly raise the vibration and influence as a
collective.

I have been looking at what we are being fed by media, our leaders and how
society functions on a day to day level. It would be inauthentic of me
not to say that I am not comfortable with how we have been shaped as a
culture by our external surroundings and the information that influences our
decision making.

I wrote this to guide and help you to create, inspire and influence in your own
way and to shift your environment to the most positive reflection of what you
want to see in the world.

So here it goes:

I ask you to think of a leader in the world (past or present) that has shaped
and shifted your beliefs, and who has raised and elevated your spirit to inspire
rather than retreat.

Now think of how they did that and why it is important to you?

Write this name at the top of a piece of paper as your #1 ‘Inspirational Influencer’.

Create a list of 3 more people who are inspirational to you, why and how.

(Essentially rinse and repeat the above exercise).

I want you to illuminate the attributes of this leader and look at how you can adopt them into your day to day. Take one thing from each leader and practice it daily.

Here’s my example:

Martin Luther King:

He was passionate, dynamic, a great speaker and influenced through inspiration. I have adopted that in my life as a way of BEING. When I feel like I just don’t want to wake up I think about him and how I am being, and shift my bad ‘tude to a good mood.

It’s that easy. Adopt this. Make it apart of your day to day Be consistent and soon you will ‘Be the positive reflection you’d like to see in the world”

Inspire others and start influencing now:
SHARE how you are BEING the Positive Reflection you Want to See in the World

We are what we eat; Physically and Spiritually!

We are what we eat; Physically and Spiritually!

When we think about food we think of grocery stores, restaurants or fast food. The food that we consume causes so many different emotions to stir up inside of us. Food can make you happy, sad, depressed, uncomfortable, and even angry….(with a little heartburnJ). Being that we are always contemplating what to put into our bodies, how much thought do we invest into how we feed our mind and soul? To feed your mind and soul means seeking knowledge and understanding to grow spiritually as well as personally and professionally. GOOD words and GOD’s word is like food for your spiritual being. Prayer is therapy for your soul and meditation for your mind. One should never stop seeking the answers to the questions they have and the knowledge that will fuel their next steps.

During difficult times, we can depend on our spiritual knowledge to strengthen our faith and restore our beliefs in our creators power and HIS ability to lead us out of the darkness. We are given all of the tools and resources necessary to build an abundantly balanced life. How are you strengthening you mind and soul? Matthew 6:33-34 (New American Standard Bible) reads, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you. So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough troubles of its own.”

Your physical body must be nourished with healthy foods and daily physical activity to stay energized and in good shape. The choices that we make in our 20’s and 30’s, will affect how our bodies treat us, in our 40’s, 50’s and beyond. In saying this, we must realize that one day, our physical being will return us back to dust but our spiritual being will search for a dwelling place. Will you be lost?

Take the time out to start reading and educating yourself. Pray for peace and understanding. Be patient and GOD will guide you down the right path. Ask GOD to speak to your heart and learn to patiently wait on guidance.
