How Emotional Pain Turns Into Wisdom

The Missing Step Between Karma and Dharma · by Amy Elizabeth

How Emotional Pain Turns Into Wisdom

When we speak about karma we are often referring to patterns that repeat themselves through our reactions and emotional habits. Dharma, on the other hand, describes the natural direction life begins to move when those patterns no longer dominate our choices. The word comes from the language of alchemy, where it described the transformation of one substance into another. In inner work the meaning is similar. Transmutation is the process of transforming emotional charge into understanding and wisdom.

Many people imagine healing as the removal of uncomfortable emotions, but emotional energy rarely disappears on command. Instead it changes form when awareness meets it directly.
